The director Hana Pinkavová took the Angel with a Crystal Heart from the T-film festival 2021

The T-film International Film Festival 2021 awarded prizes to the authors of documentaries at a gala evening in the Church of St. Václav Opava cultural organization, which was a co-organizer of the festival. This year, 62 authors from all over the world entered their films in the competition, and the festival also offered discussions with many interesting guests.

„This year, the expert jury selected the winners of individual categories from fifteen films, which were moved to the finals by an expert commission. The jury included the directors of the Ostrava and Silesian Provincial Museum Jiřina Kábrtová and Jana Horáková, directors Dušan Rapoš and Vladimír Mráz or PR specialist Beata Kapošváry, “says Marcela Mrozková Heříková, festival director. The main prize of the Grand Prix: Angel with the Crystal Heart of the ninth year of the T-film was won by a documentary from the series "Are I Still Burning?“ By director Hana Pinkavová about Petr Juráček, a world-renowned popularizer of science who traveled all continents. "The award is a big surprise for me, as is the whole T-film festival, which has a special energy in it. I am glad that it was said at the festival that we should treat each other decently and respect those who are really burning, honestly pursue their goal and inspire others, "said the director of the winning documentary, Hana Pinkavová.

Films by director Michael Kaboš also scored at the festival. The award of the Silesian Provincial Museum was won by his documentary from the cycle „Our Countryside: The Castle Lord of Trojmezí“ about the castellan Radek Kocand, who cut his dream castle from a forest thicket near Kaplice in South Bohemia. In the Man and Society category, the prize of the show „Don't Give Up!“, Entitled Sisters in Action, went. Fifteen-year-old Eliška and thirteen-year-old Anička in Michael Kaboš‚s film inspire their peers with practical tips for small changes with a great impact on the environment and are proof that the young generation is not as ruthless as is often said about it. „I am very happy with the awards not only for myself, but also for all the collaborators with whom we worked on the films. Many thanks to the playwright Josef Albrecht and the girls Eliška and Anička from the program Sisters in Action and, of course, to Radek Kocand and his family from Pořešín Castle. In addition, the films were made under the creative production group of Lenka Poláková in the Ostrava television studio, which I am also very happy about, "said director Michael Kaboš. Other festival films were also awarded. The MSK Deputy Governor‘s Award went to the American film "Jane Goodalová: Hope“ by Elizabeth Leiter and Kimberly Woodard, the Opava Cultural Organization's a­ward went to Pavel Michalik's „Offline“, the Opava Mayor's Award to the film About Wolves and People by Michal Gálik and the Green Award The film was won by Jakub Vágner and Jakub Vomáček before he disappeared. Last year, the main prize from the festival competition went to an American documentary called the Science Fair, which was co-produced with National Geographic and directed by Cristina Costantini and Darren Foster.

The competition films of T-film 2021 were screened in primary and secondary schools in the Moravian-Silesian Region, for example at Mendel Grammar School in Opava, Hello Primary School in Ostrava-Poruba, E. Beneš Primary School in Opava, Vrchlický Primary School in Ostrava or Těrlicko Primary School. The program for the public took place in the Minikino Café in Ostrava, the ART Club of the Opava Cultural Organization and in the Petr Bezruč Memorial of the Silesian Museum. The festival offered a meeting with psychiatrist Jan Cimický, Ivana Marková from the Ostrava Planetarium, and a number of directors discussed the films, such as Pavel Michalik, Tereza Vokatá, Michael Kaboš, Hana Pinkavová, Michal Gálik and Martin Petrásek.
